Wärtsilä Water & Waste recently received the official order for 42 sewage treatment plants (STPs) to be installed on 21 new SeaSpan Corporation container vessels. In close cooperation with our agent Dragon Marine, we have signed contracts with Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, Hudong-zhonghua shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. and Jiangnan Shipyard(Group) Co., Ltd.
The orderbook is built up as follows:
· Fifteen 7000TEU type vessels will be built by Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding
· 3 vessels of the 15.5kTEU category are constructed by Hudong-zhonghua shipbuilding group
· Another 3 ships of the 15.5kTEU type will be made by Jiangnan Shipyard
Each vessel will be equipped with two separate Super Trindent® sewage treatment plants: one for accommodation, one for the engine room. The 42 SPTs will be built and commissioned by Wärtsilä Water & Waste over the coming 30 months. The order currently has been handed over to our project team.
