  • The world’s largest retractable thrusters
    Performance of the propulsion solutions supplied by the technology group Wärtsilä exceeded the design specification and contributed to the success of the sea trials for the world’s largest semi-submersible crane vessel (SSCV). The ‘Sleipnir’ was built at Sembcorp Marine’s Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore for the Dutch offshore contractor Heerema Offshore Services (HOS). It was delivered from the yard in July.

  • MV Arvika
    In the highly competitive shipping industry, every drop of fuel matters. Thanks to the good economic benefits stated by Wärtsilä and a favourable price, the owners of the 190-metre-long and 32-metre-wide vessel decided to install the Wärtsilä EnergoProFin.

  • Fast Jef
    In line with the environmental vision of the Belgian shipowner Fast Lines, Wärtsilä’s EnergoProFin has been installed on the fixed pitch propeller of the coaster vessel Fast Jef and reduce the fuel consumption by up to two per cent.

    Rising fuel prices in recent years have made propulsion efficiency even more important than before. Paccship (UK) Ltd. is a company that is continuously looking for better ways to reduce fuel costs. When they recently installed the Wärtsilä EnergoProFin propeller cap on one of their cargo vessels, they were immediately able to reduce their fuel consumption.

  • RRS Discovery
    The Royal Research Ship Discovery is designed to support the multidisciplinary research required for the 21st century. The ship is the fourth vessel to bear the name and continues the tradition of oceanographic research at sea.

    Delivered in 2008, the 78m ROV / Subsea Vessel Nor Valiant is a highly specialized vessel designed by Wärtsilä Ship Design for a wide range of subsea support work.
