SEA-Arrow bow (Sharp Entrance Angle bow as an Arrow)

marine

The new shape of LPG carrier bow developped by Kawasaki Shipbuilding in order to decrease wave resistance at the bow without the bulb while allowing cargo tanks to extend to the foremost point of the vessel. Built at Kawasaki's Sakaide yard, the 80,138m3 LPG carrier CRYSTAL MARINE is the first vessel with SEA-Arrow bow. Kawasaki adopted the same fore-end confi guration for the handymax bulker BIG GLORY delivered in 2005.
