A container location device. The SCOLD unit is a compact radio beacon which should be attached to a container with hazardous or noxious cargo. If the container is lost from the ship, the SCOLD unit automatically activates itself on immersion in water and transmits a sonar beep which can be used to locate the container at any depth.
