The IBC Code contains the IMO regulations that govern the design, construction, and outfitting of new built or converted chemical tankers. The IBC Code replaced the Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Dangerous Chemical in Bulk, which applies to chemical tankers built or converted before 1 July 1986.
