A liquid storage tank which maintains a head or gravity pressure in the system. It acts as an expansion tank and also supplies liquid to make up for system losses. For vessels such as semi submersibles with largely differing drafts the header tanks may be pneumatically pressurized in accordance with the operating depth of the underwater equipment.
