According to SOLAS, the Master of the ship shall be supplied with reliable information to enable him assessment of the ship stability. Having the curve of the maximum allowable vertical centre of gravity versus draught is enough to calculate actual KG of the vessel and compare the result with the value allowable for a given draught.
