Controlled atmosphere (CA)

marine

To stop the ripening process and to preserve the quality of fruit, vegetables, flowers or other perishable goods during sea transport, Controlled Atmosphere (CA) has proved to be an ideal solution. By introducing and maintaining a nitrogen-rich atmosphere in the cargo holds, the respiration rate of the goods can be reduced to a minimum, ensuring top quality at the destination. Typically the storage time of most perishable goods can be extended by 3-5 times without any loss in quality.
