Wärtsilä Land & Sea Academy currently has operations in nine countries, with a number of permanent instructors, a dedicated development team and a support team to assist you throughout the process.
The new experience centre, located in Cabo de Santo Agostinho city (northeast of Brazil), is equipped with an engine block where students can experience W32, W34, SG and DF technologies and combine during the same training session theory with hands-on maintenance activities.
What makes it unique is the opportunity to follow-up the ongoing activities in our service workshop and the possibility of visiting a running Power Plant.

Wärtsilä’s Jakarta Training Centre provided the first training package to EDTL Oecusse personnel, containing Power Plant Operation and Maintenance and 20kV Electrical Distribution courses. Training was done in good cooperation with PLN Corporate University to cover content outside our Land & Sea Academy competence areas, and it was a great start for our 5 years training program with EDTL Oecusse company.
Training started with a memorable opening ceremony by the honorable Mr. Arsenio Paixao Bano, President of the Authority Special Administrative Region Oecusse-Ambeno and Mr. Erwin Vanderkerff, Wartsila EB Director Regional Operations Australasia.
As our ships must stay operational 24/7, it is extremely important that the crews can master the system. After the training we have been able to operate the system by ourselves. I would recommend this type of training session for other customers with similar needs.

The addition of this latest Wärtsilä Land & Sea Academy in Vaasa, where we have access to the latest technologies in the Sustainable Technology Hub, extends our capabilities,” says Stefan Wiik, Vice President, Field Services and Workshops at Wärtsilä.
