Grupo Punta Cana has transformed the energy supply for one of the Dominican Republic’s most important tourism regions through a strategic partnership with Wärtsilä.
Since 2004, the plant operated and maintained by Wärtsilä has ensured stable and efficient power for the community and tourism sector, achieving engine reliability above 99.6%.
The project began with the modernization of infrastructure and the installation of state-of-the-art engines, and has evolved to meet rapidly growing demand by integrating flexible and sustainable technology such as the Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engine.
This solution enables operation with multiple fuels and resilience in adverse conditions, ensuring service continuity and supporting the transition to renewable energy.
The collaboration between Grupo Punta Cana and Wärtsilä stands as a benchmark for resilience, efficiency, and commitment to sustainable development in the Caribbean.
