Wärtsilä’s Hanna-Maria Heikkinen named as Investor Relations Director of the year 2023

Feb 2, 2024, 12:00 by Wärtsilä Corporation

Hanna-Maria Heikkinen, Vice President, Investor Relations at Wärtsilä has been named Investor Relations Director of the year 2023 in Finland by The Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion. The jury of leading investor influencers paid particular attention to the reach and clarity of Wärtsilä’s investor communication on the company's website and social media channels. One contributor was the increased number of shareholders. Ms Heikkinen was recognized as an exceptionally active investor relations leader who has developed her profession in innovative ways.

"Ms Heikkinen has expanded the analyst calls equally to all investors, and continuously gauges investors' information needs and provides answers. She is the absolute top of her field," reasoned the Bourse Gala jury.

Hanna-Maria Heikkinen joined Wärtsilä in 2021. She is passionate about democratising investor relations and accelerating the decarbonisation of the marine and energy sectors. At Wärtsilä, she has introduced strategy calls with the CEO, calls with the CFO before the silent period, and separate theme calls with different business leaders. All of these calls are equally open to all investors and analysts globally. During her time, Wärtsilä has also started an IR blog with summaries of events and the most frequently asked investor questions with answers that can be easily shared via social media groups used by investors.

“I am grateful for this recognition. The competition in capital markets is intense, and it is important to think of new innovative ways to build dialogue with potential investors. We appreciate the trust of every shareholder of Wärtsilä, so this recognition for democratising investor relations work is especially rewarding,” says Hanna-Maria Heikkinen.
