At 10% engine load when operating in diesel mode, the Wärtsilä Fuel injection equipment upgrade for Wärtsilä 20 and Wärtsilä 20DF engines can reduce THC emissions by up to 40–50%.
The upgrade replaces the previous-generation injection pump and injection valve, which are gradually being phased out of Wärtsilä’s spare parts portfolio. The upgrade can be performed as part of the engine’s next scheduled overhaul.
Improved engine availability and reduced OPEX
Wärtsilä’s latest-generation fuel injection technology improves engine availability and, for Wärtsilä 20DF engines, can prolong the lifetime of the injection nozzle thanks to a new oil-cooled solution. The new design also reduces the cost of spare parts.
Reduced THC emissions
The upgrade reduces THC emissions across the full load range. For example, at 10% engine load when operating in diesel mode THC emissions can be reduced by up to 40–50%.
