Wärtsilä to supply two power plant extensions in Bangladesh

Wärtsilä Corporation won two contracts in August for power plant extensions in Bangladesh.The customer is Summit Power Ltd, an independent power producer. The gas-fired power plant extensions, with a combined electrical output of 39 MW, will be installed in power plants at Narsingdi and Comilla.

Both power plant extensions will be fully operational in summer 2006 and will generate electricity for the national grid under a power purchase agreement with the Bangladeshi Rural Electrification Board (REB).
