Hamworthy wins flare gas recovery contracts

Hamworthy, Press release 22 August 2011 at 15:00 UTC+2

Hamworthy has secured two significant new contracts for its Flare Gas Recovery System.

The contracts are with CQG Oil and Gas Contractors Incorporated and CCI Oil & Gas Contractors Incorporated. The systems will be fitted on the P58 and P62 FPSO conversions to be situated in the Baleia Azul and Roncador fields offshore Brazil. The contracts provide that equipment will be delivered in the second half of 2012.

Commenting on the orders, Joe Oatley, Chief Executive of Hamworthy, said: "Hamworthy has developed a strong position in the growing market for flare gas recovery which is driven by both economics as offshore operators seek greater efficiency and increasing environmental concerns over flaring. The two systems for P58 and P62 represent a major break through for our flare gas recovery systems in the Brazilian market.”
