Propulsion package for Ulstein Verft shipyard in Norway

Wärtsilä was contracted by the Norwegian shipyard Ulstein Verft AS in March to supply a propulsion package for an anchor-handling vessel. The vessel, ordered by Bourbon Offshore Norway AS, will be completed in May 2006.

The Wärtsilä order comprises six engines giving a total output of 14.8 MW as well as propellers, control systems and other equipment.

Bourbon Offshore Norway, a subsidiary of the French Groupe Bourbon, is an offshore supply company located in Fosnavaag on Norway ’s west coast. The company currently operates a fleet of 16 vessels. The new anchor-handling towing supply (AHTS) vessel now on order will operate in the North Sea.
