Wärtsilä acquires component machining capacity in the Netherlands

Wärtsilä Corporation, Press release 17 February 2006 at 15:00 UTC+2

Wärtsilä has today signed a contract to acquire component machining capacity in the Netherlands for producing engine components. The deal will secure Wärtsilä the added capacity to handle the current high order book at the Vaasa and Trieste factories and to cope with the anticipated growth in a flexible way.

The subject of the acquisition is the assets and operations of Diesel Technology Solutions BV (DTS) in Zwolle, the Netherlands, a company owned by Stibbe Management BV. DTS employs 75 people.

DTS was established in 2002, when Stibbe Management acquired the key component machining equipment after Wärtsilä terminated engine manufacturing in Zwolle. At that time parties agreed on Wärtsilä´s right to acquire the manufacturing capacity back upon certain conditions.
