Wärtsilä Corporation, Press release 13 December 2004 at 15:00 UTC+2

PGS Production AS, a Norwegian oilfield service company, has signed a five-year service agreement with Wärtsilä covering maintenance of the power plants onboard three FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) vessels operating in the North Sea and the north Atlantic.

Wärtsilä signed its first service agreement with PGS in summer 1999. Wärtsilä has had a permanent power plant maintenance crew on all three vessels since 2002. The new agreement is a five-year extension of this arrangement, under which Wärtsilä is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power plants, allowing the customer to concentrate on their core business of oil production.

The aim of Wärtsilä’s Total Service strategy is to create added value for its customers’ business operations by maximizing the performance, availability and reliability of the power plant throughout its lifecycle.

Wärtsilä’s worldwide service network covers more than 60 countries. The Group has Ciserv companies in eight countries.
