Ms Päivi Castrén (46) MSc (Soc.Sc.) has been appointed Vice President, Human Resources at Wärtsilä with effect from 21 March 2005. In her long career Ms Castrén has held several senior positions related to human resources management. Before joining Wärtsilä she worked as Director, Human Resources for Nokia in Finland. She joined Nokia in 1995 from Valmet Paper Machinery.
In Wärtsilä Ms Päivi Castrén will be responsible for human resources management and development for the entire Group, reporting to Mr Kari Hietanen, Group Vice President, Legal Affairs and HR.
