Wärtsilä’s e-annual report wins European Excellence Award 2010

Wärtsilä's electronic Annual Report 2009 has been selected best annual report in Europe. The prize was handed out at the European Excellence Awards ceremony in Prague, Czech Republic, on 9 December 2010.

There were over 1,400 entries in the European Excellence Awards competition this year. The other shortlisted companies in the Annual report category beside Wärtsilä were DocCheck, Kuoni Travel, REWE Group and Van Gansewinkel Groep.

“Last year’s report was groundbreaking in many ways, as we opted for completely new ways of working, coupled with a new media and format one step ahead of everybody else. Through strong co-operation and hard work our team managed to publish this very extensive report in record time,” says Joséphine Mickwitz, Director, Investor Relations.

Wärtsilä’s groundbreaking “Shipping Scenarios 2030” were also acknowledged in the prize ceremony by being shortlisted among the Top 5 entries in the category Automobile and Transportation.

The European Excellence Awards honour outstanding performance in a wide range of categories. With in-depth categories which cover everything from internal communications to public relations, as well as a wide range of industries from all across Europe, the awards explore the full range of the profession, and provide a comprehensive look at the most exceptional examples of communication in Europe.
