Wärtsilä has won the Telerik Sitefinity Award of Honour in the Multisite category. In keen competition with the 25 category contenders Wärtsilä won with close to 40% of the votes. Telerik, a Progress Software Corporation company, reviewed nominations for more than 18 different website categories. Each category had three finalists and one website was selected as the winner through public voting. Close to 8,000 people participated in the voting process this year. Since its inception in 2011, the Website of the Year awards have been recognizing Telerik Sitefinity-powered websites.
The award for the best in website creativity, design, user experience, functionality and overall presentation is shared with Siili Solutions, Helsinki, who built the new website. The co-operation between Wärtsilä and Siili started in 2014 and the new global site www.wartsila.com was launched in March, 2015 followed by continuous optimisation and rollout of over 60 regional and local sites.
“One of the key benefits with the new website is a tight integration between the content management system, marketing automation platform and customer relationship management system, helping us to maximize conversions and be more relevant to all our stakeholders. In addition to this, the technical environment with a cloud architecture allowed us to cut ongoing annual costs by over 50%,” says Johan Bäckman, Manager, External Online Channels, Wärtsilä.
“This is a great recognition for the work done together in the past 18 months. We’ve taken Wärtsilä.com from a static, quite rigid and costly web platform into a responsive, customer-oriented lead generator,” states Perttu Monthan, Business Executive at Siili.
