Technology Group Wärtsilä is planning to implement organisational changes in its global Finance & Control unit to enhance efficiency and capabilities, ensure continued global competitiveness and to remain well-positioned for long-term growth.
As part of these plans, Wärtsilä intends to reorganise and right-size its Finance & Control unit and establish an internal service centre in Gdańsk, Poland, complementing the capabilities of a similar centre in Vaasa, Finland.
These plans may involve a reduction of the finance and controlling roles, and Wärtsilä will therefore initiate change consultations concerning the Finance & Control unit following the local regulatory practices.
The estimated need for reductions is at the maximum 205 positions globally. In parallel, about 130 new positions are planned to be created. The final number of redundancies, new positions, and any other alternative measures will be determined during the consultations.
