Wärtsilä acquires electrical power engineering company in Scotland

Wärtsilä has acquired a Scottish company Electrical Power Engineering (Scotland) Ltd. The company specializes in electrical power engineering solutions for marine, offshore, industrial and utilities segments. The annual net sales of the company are approximately EUR 20 million and the company employs 31 people, mainly electrical engineers.

Main activity covers full electrical conversion and upgrade of marine power systems and offshore applications.

Electrical Power Engineering Ltd. is based in Montrose, Scotland, where they design and build their own control panels, automation solutions and switchgear. The company also operates in the USA offering service, maintenance and project support in the Gulf of Mexico area.

“The purchase of Electrical Power Engineering will further expand our service offering. The company will add depth to Wärtsilä’s existing automation business”, says Mr Tage Blomberg, Group Vice President, Wärtsilä Services.
