APPA National Conference

Boston, United States
900 Boylston Street

The American Public Power Association is the voice of not-for-profit, community-owned utilities that power approximately 2,000 towns and cities nationwide. We represent public power before the federal government to protect the interests of the more than 55 million people that public power utilities serve across the United States and its territories. We advise on electricity policy, grid technology and operations, and workforce development in support of safe, modern, and resilient utilities.

The American Public Power Association (APPA) National Conference is an annual gathering for public power utility leaders and policymakers across North America. It includes sessions on industry topics such as data center load growth, grid resilience, and policy developments, along with opportunities to connect with peers and vendors.

At the conference, Andrew Phillips, Business Development Manager at Wärtsilä Energy, will lead a session on Monday, June 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. titled "Flexible, Resilient, Ready: A Public Power Playbook for Modern Engine Plants."

Discover how public power utilities are leveraging fast-start RICE plants to add dispatchable capacity, enhance peak reliability and black start capabilities, and guide decisions related to technology, procurement, and operations.
