To strengthen a resilient and cyber secure ecosystem throughout the supply chain, Wärtsilä utilizes an industry-leading platform to scan supply chain partners and gain a continuous assessment of security controls, gaps and emerging risks.
The Third Party Risk Management programme continues to expand coverage of Wärtsilä’s supply chain partners, providing evidence-based assurance and clear communication to mitigate risks. Communication with suppliers stresses the importance of our shared roles and responsibilities in maintaining a cyber secure ecosystem.
Effective collaboration with Wärtsilä Supply Management is driving the Third Party Risk Management programme, and alignment on supplier requirements and guidance.
As a supply chain is as strong as its weakest link, stakeholder collaboration and supporting our common and shared responsibility is key for the overall goal of ensuring a cyber secure ecosystem.
Project RISE (Rating Improvement & Supply Chain Enhancement) is Wärtsilä’s comprehensive, turnkey initiative designed to proactively improve the cyber security posture of critical suppliers with poor cyber security ratings.
The initiative supports Wärtsilä’s ongoing supplier threat monitoring and remediation efforts, and is an intense collaborative effort between critical suppliers, Wärtsilä teams and Wärtsilä’s third party security monitoring provider.
Suppliers participate in Project RISE due to the comprehensive guidance and support provided by Wärtsilä, which directs their focus and mindset towards concrete actions necessary for improvement. This demonstrates a commitment to both the supplier's internal organization and to Wärtsilä as a valued customer.
