BridgeMate – your ECDIS back-up

BridgeMate is a mobile ECDIS backup which keeps you connected to critical navigation data even during system outages. It is an essential app to enhance situational awareness and safety onboard.

What is BridgeMate for?

BridgeMate is an iPad app which works seamlessly with Wärtsilä’s Navi-Sailor and Fleet Operations Solution (FOS). It synchronises with the following navigational data from bridge systems in real time

• the vessel’s position and speed
• AIS and ARPA targets.

Because the navigational data and the charts collection in BridgeMate are kept updated in real time, it is a reliable back-up in case of a main system blackout. Even offline, it will support route monitoring, docking assistance, and hazard avoidance thanks to its built-in GPS.

During normal operations, the BridgeMate app allows for more mobility onboard. Its seakeeping module helps avoid parametric rolling and stability loss, while the docking assistant enables safe berthing from any location onboard.
