Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is a competitively priced and environmentally friendly fuel that significantly lowers emissions and mitigates environmental risks. The use of LNG as marine fuel will remain a key option and is also likely to increase in the future, contributing to a greener society. The Wärtsilä Gas Solutions' LNG Fuel Supply System is designed to be robust and reliable, even under the difficult maritime conditions.

    Technical data

    The system is configured with LNG optimized for the trade of the vessel. The LNG fuel tank(s) is loaded through dedicated bunkering lines, or in case of a LNG carrier reloaded from the cargo tanks. From the fuel tank(s), the LNG is conditioned and prepared as fuel. A system consisting of pumps and heat exchanger is used to supply the engine with a stable and reliable fuel flow, at the correct pressure and temperature. The LNG Fuel Supply System is equipped with proven components, including the necessary return gas conditioning system.
