The Wärtsilä 25 Ammonia solution was developed to support the shipping industry's transition to low-emission fuels, achieving a minimum of 90% reduction in greenhouse gases. Drawing on Wärtsilä's expertise with LNG dual-fuel engines, the ammonia engine features a modular design and materials specifically chosen for ammonia resistance. The integrated solution encompasses the engine, fuel supply, ammonia release mitigation, and exhaust aftertreatment systems, prioritising safety throughout development.
