Our range of water lubricated bearings provide ship operators with longer bearing life through improved hydrodynamic operation, low coefficient of friction and wear rates, and reduced wear in abrasive and brown water applications. A variety of different supply options is available to suit specific applications including non-split bearings, split shells, or fully split housing that allows in-situ replacement or repair.
Wärtsilä can also supply a bearing wear down gauge system, which remotely indicates stern tube or bracket bearing wear by measuring the drop of the propeller shaft. This enables analytical information to be received on the wear status of the sterntube bearings without diver assisted underwater wear down measurement.
