The Wärtsilä Floodguard restrictor is a self activating bulkhead restrictor solution for both commercial and military applications. The restrictor has been designed to ensure that compartments traversed by the propulsion shaft are not compromised in the event of flooding, thus maintaining the vessel's compartment integrity during static or dynamic operation to get the vessel to shore. Through its automatic operation and acceptance of large angular and radial shaft movement, the restrictor ensures safe and reliable vessel operations. It can be fit with the shaft in situ on either side of the bulkhead.
