In Bangladesh, Wärtsilä began operations in the late 1990s as a locally incorporated company, Wärtsilä Bangladesh Ltd., to support the country’s power sector by ensuring the availability of essential services and prompt, nationwide customer support.

Today, our core activities in Bangladesh include newbuild sales, lifecycle services, marine power sales, and flexible power solutions that enable the transition towards a 100% renewable energy future. To date, Wärtsilä has delivered more than 5,000 MW of power to the Bangladeshi energy market, including projects for independent power producers (IPPs) and captive power plants.

We are advancing decarbonization by deploying market-leading technologies that provide environmentally sound solutions, such as flexible engine power plants, energy storage systems, intelligent optimization technologies, balancing power for renewable integration and alternative-fuel capabilities, serving customers across both the private and public sectors.
