Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company has today informed Wärtsilä Corporation that it has purchased Wärtsilä shares on the 23 August 2007 and now owns over one tenth (1/10) of the company’s votes. Following the transaction Varma owns 3,547,257 A shares and 1,188,691 B shares giving a total holding of 4,735,948 Wärtsilä shares or 4.94% of Wärtsilä’s share capital and 11.91% of the total votes.
