About Wärtsilä in Bangladesh
Wärtsilä started activities in Bangladesh in the early nineties. As its business grew, Wärtsilä formed a locally incorporated company named Wärtsilä Bangladesh Ltd. in 1998 to ensure necessary services to its customers in Bangladesh.
Wärtsilä's main business activities in Bangladesh are Energy Solutions Sales, Marine Solutions Sales and supporting Services. As of today, Wärtsilä has delivered around 2600 MW of Power Plants and Marine Engines in Bangladesh. Another 400 MW of plants are under implementation which will further support the Government’s ongoing Energy and Electricity Development Program. Nearly 25% of the national grid’s power is being supplied from Wärtsilä plants.
Wärtsilä has about 160 employees in Bangladesh who are not only highly qualified and trained but also have the highest sense of dedication to provide Life Cycle Support to our Customers. Wärtsilä takes care of 660 MW under Contract Management Services on behalf of its Customers in Bangladesh.
We have two services workshops at Chittagong and at Gazipur which offer and provide various specialized services to our customers.
