Wärtsilä Korea Ltd., Local press release 31 January 2018 at 17:00 UTC+2

Wärtsilä Korea Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of the technology group Wärtsilä, has signed an Optimised Maintenance solution agreement with South Korean Doorae Shipping Co., Ltd. The 5-year agreement, which began on 1 January 2018, was signed in November 2017 and it covers 6 Ocean bunkering tankers.

Wärtsilä’s Optimised Maintenance agreement is designed to enhance customer’s business with the most appropriate services and solutions.
The agreement benefits Doorae Shipping by providing maintenance cost and service level assurance, long-term cost predictability, maximised uptime, and remote operational and technical support.  It covers tailored maintenance schedule and field services with spare parts.  Furthermore, stable ship performance management will be constantly supported by collaboration between Wärtsilä’s extensive global network of workshops and expert personnel.

All of the six vessels are equipped with Wärtsilä 32 engines.  The engines on board four of the vessels have been in operation since 2009, and since 2015 on board the other two.

“When the market environment is challenging, it is especially crucial for companies like Doorae Shipping to ensure that their vessels perform well, and are well-managed.  This is the first-ever Optimised Maintenance solution agreement for Wärtsilä Korea, and Doorae Shipping’s confidence in our solutions is testimony of our ability to provide reliable solutions that extend the lifecycle value of our customers’ assets,” said SungChan Lee, Manager, Services Sales of Wärtsilä Korea.
