Thanks to the collaboration and synergy established with SMACT Competence Center and SISSA, within the IRISS (Innovazione, Ricerca Industriale e Sviluppo Sperimentale) 2023 projects under the PNRR – Next Generation EU – M4C2L2.3, Wärtsilä Italy was awarded funding of €257,024.00 for the research and development of two projects aimed at innovating industrial maintenance, making it more efficient and intelligent through the use of advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, and data analytics.

The first project, AGOP an acronym for “Generalized Algorithms for the Optimization of Production Processes”, developed a solution to optimize machine usage through the analysis of real and synthetic data. The project enabled the development of predictive algorithms capable of detecting anomalies, making data accessible and useful also for other industrial contexts.

The second project, SVAS "Smart Vibration Assessment Service", introduced a predictive system based on a wireless sensor that analyzes motor vibrations to prevent failures. The collected data feed AI models that enable timely and targeted interventions, improving the reliability of machinery and our products.
