Wärtsilä has appointed Mr Javier Cavada Camino (39) PhD (Eng.), as President of Energy Solutions, Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Management of Wärtsilä Corporation, effective 4 November 2015. In this position, he is responsible for Wärtsilä's Energy Solutions business globally, and will report to President & CEO Mr Jaakko Eskola.
Mr Cavada joined Wärtsilä in 2002 and has since held several key management positions in production, research and development, quality, operational development and business operations. Until now, Mr Cavada has the dual role of leading the Services business in South Europe and Africa, as well as Propulsion Services globally.
The current Head of Energy Solutions, Mr Rakesh Sarin (60) retires having reached his statutory retirement age earlier this year.
