Wärtsilä Water & Waste, part of technology group Wärtsilä, has appointed IKAD Engineering as its authorised distributor and dedicated local partner in Australia to supply spare parts, products and technical support for the company’s product range across the region. The agreement positions IKAD Engineering as the primary in-country channel for Wärtsilä Water & Waste equipment and spare parts in the Australian market. This partnership reflects Wärtsilä’s commitment to providing responsive, locally based service to operators who depend on reliable wastewater treatment and vacuum sanitation systems in demanding marine environments.
“Establishing a strong local presence in Australia is an important step for our business in the region”, says Fraser Scott, Managing Director, Wärtsilä Water & Waste. “IKAD Engineering brings established relationships and a deep understanding of the Australian maritime and defence sectors. Their appointment means our customers - including the Royal Australian Navy - will benefit from faster access to genuine spares and expert local support for our range of technologies.”
Beyond spare parts and aftermarket support, the partnership is expected to open new opportunities for Wärtsilä Water & Waste across Australia’s commercial and naval marine sectors. IKAD Engineering will actively promote Wärtsilä’s full range of water and waste solutions, including advanced sewage treatment plants, vacuum toilet systems and grey water treatment units, to shipowners, operators and defence programmes throughout the country.
Scott adds: “Australia represents a significant market for marine environmental systems, driven by both its naval fleet requirements and the growing commercial shipping activity in the region. Having IKAD Engineering as our local partner ensures we can deliver the same standard of service and support that our customers expect from us anywhere in the world.”
The appointment of IKAD Engineering reinforces Wärtsilä Water & Waste’s strategy of building local distributor networks to ensure reliable access to spare parts, technical expertise and product solutions in key markets worldwide.
Ivan Donjerkovich, Managing Director, IKAD Engineering, says: “Wärtsilä Water and Waste is globally recognised for its leadership in marine environmental technologies, and we are proud to be appointed as its authorised distributor for Australia. This partnership aligns strongly with IKAD Engineering’s capabilities in supporting complex marine and defence systems and strengthens our ability to provide Australian operators with responsive local service and technical expertise.
Australia’s naval and commercial marine sectors require reliable, compliant wastewater treatment solutions, and through this collaboration we can ensure customers have access to Wärtsilä Water and Waste’s proven technologies alongside dedicated local support.”
