Wärtsilä to supply engines for six containerships

Wärtsilä has been contracted to supply the main and auxiliary engines for six containerships ordered by the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line (IRISL) and building at the Aker MTW Werft GmbH shipyard in Wismar, Germany.

Each vessel will be equipped with a Sulzer main engine and three Wärtsilä auxiliary engines. The main engines will be built at Wärtsilä’s Trieste factory in Italy and the auxiliary engines at the Vaasa factory in Finland. The engines will be delivered between June 2003 and February 2004.
