The package is called Wärtsilä 34DF greenhouse gas reduction upgrade, and it will reduce unburned total hydrocarbon (THC) emissions because it will reduce the charge air pressure and air-fuel ratio. The upgrade is based on adaptive combustion phasing control, which optimises engine behaviour according to the ambient and operating conditions.
