Wärtsilä employee innocent

Wärtsilä Corporation, Stock exchange release 27 May 2005 at 15:00 UTC+2

Wärtsilä’s subsidiary Wärtsilä Finland and its employee have been found not guilty by the Vaasa District Court. The owner’s commissions paid by Wärtsilä in connection with engine sales in 1999 and 2000 ended up in a private bank account without Wärtsilä’s knowledge owing to the action of the owner’s representative.

The prosecutor suspected Wärtsilä’s employee of bribery. That was however a question of a normal owner’s commission.
