Wärtsilä Corporation made a public offer to the minority shareholders of Wärtsilä India Ltd on 23 September 2002 to acquire 1,383,694 shares, or 11.5% of the share capital. The offer period started on 23 November 2002 and expired on 21 December 2002.
During the offer period 143,095 shares were acquired, corresponding to 1.19% of the total shares. The acquisition cost was approximately USD 0.4 million. Wärtsilä Corporation now holds 89.69% of the total shares of Wärtsilä India Ltd.
