Wärtsilä Corporation, Trade press release 9 March 2007 at 02:01 UTC+2

Wärtsilä celebrates today the inauguration of new office and workshop premises in Hirtshals, Denmark. Over the past year Wärtsilä has invested almost EUR 2 million in the new building.

“The new building will enable the company to improve the customer service and further develop its business, especially in the area of field service and ship service. The company and our employees really needed modern new facilities as the old buildings didn’t meet the requirements of the business. Bigger facilities were also essential for us to continue growing in the region as a Total Services Provider,” says Uffe Nyborg Johanssen, Managing Director of Wärtsilä Danmark A/S.

Wärtsilä is one of the biggest providers of ship and power plant services in Denmark. The main customers are shipowners in the North Sea region as well as local power plants all over Denmark.

The office in Hirtshals offers a complete range of services for power plant and ship power sales. The new building has 1200 m2 of office space and a further 400 m2 reserved for the workshop and warehouse.

Wärtsilä also has offices in Arden and in Copenhagen in Denmark.

Wärtsilä Danmark A/S is a major industrial company in the region and constantly educates and trains its employees to maintain a qualified and competent workforce. Wärtsilä Danmark has 155 employees and foresees hiring new people in the years ahead.
