Wärtsilä Corporation, Press release 8 August 2005 at 15:00 UTC+2

Wärtsilä has won a contract to deliver a 45 MW power plant to Riyadh Cement Company (RCC) in Saudi Arabia. The value of the contract, signed in June 2005, is approx. EUR 26 million. The cement plant will be located about 75 km southwest of Riyadh.

The power plant, which will run on heavy fuel oil, will be delivered to the customer under an EPC contract. The plant will be fully operational during first half of 2007.

The key factors favouring Wärtsilä were the reliability and cost-effective lifecycle operating costs of the engines and the after-sales support provided by the regional office based in Jeddah.
