Merchant vessels - gas carriers
Did you know that more than 65% of all LNG Carriers today are fitted with Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines, with the Wärtsilä 50DF being a very popular choice? Our latest technology enables LNGCs to operate on LNG in ECA zones (IMO Tier III) and MDO outside at competitive fuel costs. Recently, the Wärtsilä 50DF engine was successfully tested and shown to be capable of operating on ethane gas, in addition to LNG or conventional liquid fuels. A great example of what lies ahead in the multi fuel future are these Evergas Dragon class vessels, which we will also feature at Kormarine.
You will also hear about the Wärtsilä 31 engine that has been awarded the Guinness World Records title as the most fuel-efficient engine in the world. This engine is designed to serve a variety of vessel types requiring main engine propulsion in the 4.2 to 9.8 MW power range. Click here to download the latest information.

Do join us in beautiful Busan from 20 to 23 October to hear about Wärtsilä’s comprehensive range of solutions and how we’re enhancing our customers business and propelling them into the Gas Age.
