Mac Mu joined Wärtsilä Water & Waste as new Sales Manager for the Chinese market earlier this month. He will specifically be focusing on the sales of Wärtsilä’s Aquarius® ballast water treatment systems (BWMS).
Wärtsilä has a wide reputation in the maritime industry. Drivers are the philosophy to contribute to the wellbeing of society through sustainable solutions, the collaboration with local stakeholders and the support for local development. These were key motivators for Mac to want to join the team. “I am honored to now be a part of these initiatives and to promote sustainable development together with my colleagues”, says Mac. “It is a beautiful step to take and to start contributing to making land, oceans and sky cleaner. My strong conviction is that as long as we keep working and fighting with complete dedication, there’s nothing we can't overcome.”
Mac Mu now considers his many years of work experience in the maritime industry as a true benefit. Over the last decades he has gained experience in market development, customer management, business analysis, project and supply chain management. With an educational background in technology and management, he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in Finance.
“In my free time I like to sport outdoors, usually sticking to activities such as jogging, walking, and camping. I really enjoy embracing nature: the fresh air, clear streams and green forests”, adds Mac to the conversation. “When my family is able to join me, these moments become even more special!”
