Nick Fenwick, Jethro Brussaard
Nick Fenwick is proud to work with Wärtsilä. He loves being at the forefront of preventing marine pollution. “I am passionate about the environment. Most people are. The great natural sites I get to experience during my travels I’d like to be there for the generations to come.”. Read how he supports Wärtsilä Water & Waste as PM.
Nick joined Wärtsilä Water & Waste in September 2021 as a Project Manager. He is currently running a portfolio of twelve projects, retrofitting and new-building Membrane Bioreactor and Ballast Water Treatment Systems. On a daily basis he deals with customers such as Meyer Werft in Germany, Disney Cruise Line in Florida US and UME in Egypt.
“I am proud to work with Wärtsilä, being at the forefront of preventing marine pollution. Like most people I am passionate about the environment. Having been fortunate enough to travel a lot I have seen many great natural sites and species. I’d like the same opportunities to be available for future generations!”. Nick would like to see marine plastic pollution be minimised. This fits perfectly well with Wärtsilä’s involvement in developing solutions to clean up the oceans and reuse plastic waste.
Engineering Project Management is not new to Nick: for the last 17 years he has been working as PM in the Defence, Oil and Gas, Automation and Marine sectors. “My highlight so far has been project managing the design and production of the new, all-weather lifeboat for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. But, there’s still time to surpass it yet!”
Nick is enjoying the challenges of his job that crop up on a daily basis. “Customer relations, technical issue resolution and in hitting deadlines and targets – every project I’ve managed over the last 17 years has been interesting and has had specific obstacles that I’ve learnt from.”
In the short term Nick would like to deliver projects he has inherited. In the longer term he has set his mind on also further developing and improving project management processes within Wartsila.
