Wärtsilä NACOS MULTIPILOT Platinum

Radar, ECDIS and conning data integrated into a single and simple interface for maximum situational awareness.

Overview

Over the last decade, the MULTIPILOT has become a synonym for a modern multifunctional navigation workstation in the marine industry. A part of our NACOS Platinum integrated vessel control systems solution, the MULTIPILOT Platinum is built on a common hardware and software architecture. The workstation hardware consists of a marine certified electronics unit with multiple display options, different functional keyboards and a sensor interface jointly connected to a managed network switch.

The MULTIPILOT makes all key Navigation applications such as RADARPILOT, ECDISPILOT and CONNINGPILOT available from a single device, flexibly configured to the meet the requirements of the individual wheelhouse arrangement. It provides integrated operation of our TRACKPILOT Track Control system.

A truly scalable solution: in a stand-alone configuration, the MULITPILOT can work as a single radar display or ECDIS. Fully integrated navigation systems can be formed by connecting several MULTIPILOT workstations through a redundant network ring architecture. When our NACOS Platinum Navigation system is integrated with our NACOS Platinum Automation or NACOS Platinum Dynamic Positioning, the MULTIPILOT can also be configured as a DP Operator Station or monitoring and control workplace for the vessel automation.

A flexible system architecture also allows for integration with a variety of third-party systems, such as CCTV, FLIR Camera or forward-looking sonar, making the MULITPILOT a much more versatile tool than just the primary navigation applications.

Key benefits

  • Best-in-class user interface for optimal situational awareness.
  • Integrates all key navigation applications like radar, ECDIS and conning into a single device view.
  • Small installation footprint.
  • Scalable and easy-to-extend solution.

Other features
FLIR Integration

NACOS Platinum allows a type-approved integration of a network-based multi-sensor FLIR camera (daylight and infrared camera). This is an optional feature where the camera is connected through a secondary network and its view is available on the conning page that can be operated with a virtual joystick.

Compatible with FLIR M Series Cameras.
Requires additional hardware.

FARSOUNDER Forward looking Sonar integration

The FARSOUNDER Forward Looking Sonar is integrated into the Wärtsilä NACOS Platinum system as a client application to the FARSOUNDER System (server). Up to four NACOS Platinum Operator Workstations can be connected as clients through a separate network. 3D view of the seabed in front can be combined with ECDIS monitoring utilising a two-display monitor setup for a workstation.

Requires additional hardware.

Dynamic Environmental Data overlay

This optional feature provides layer-based visualisation of environmental data such as ocean current, wind, air pressure and wave height for the timeline of predicted data.
Requires environmental data subscription service.

FUGRO Docking System integration

The FUGRO Docking system is interfaced into the Wärtsilä NACOS Platinum system using a DPU2020 serial interface unit. Docking information such as lateral distance to berth, lateral speed and FUGRO sensor data quality are displayed on a customised conning page available on MULTIPILOT operator workstations featuring conning functionality.
