Wärtsilä Community Outreach in the United States

Wärtsilä North America, Inc. and Wärtsilä Defense, Inc. are dedicated to supporting and promoting the local communities and charitable programs throughout the U.S. In each location where we operate, our employees volunteer their time and efforts to assist those who need it most. Wärtsilä’s support of charitable causes is an important part of our responsibility as a corporation.

Run-for-a-reason
Chevron Houston Marathon (Run for a Reason Charity Program)
Wärtsilä is a proud sponsor of the Chevron Houston Marathon's Run for a Reason Charity Program. As part of our sponsorship, we support the Houston Area Parkinson Society and their efforts in the community. Wärtsilä employees run in the full and half marathons and many others volunteer their time at our ‘Sidewalk Squad’ cheering on the runners.

Marine Industry Cares Spinathon
Wärtsilä is proud to support the Marine Industry Cares Foundation. Annually, a team of Wärtsilä employees participate in a spinning-bike relay event held in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Spinathon benefits children and families in the South Florida community. The event is held outdoors and encourages team building as well as a great opportunity to get fit.

Habitat for Humanity
Wärtsilä continues to be a proud sponsor of the Habitat for Humanity chapters across the U.S. Our employees and their families have put in volunteer hours on Saturdays helping to build homes for families in their local communities. Wärtsilä employees have also volunteered in the Habitat ReStore shops organizing donated supplies, furniture and other items delivered to the stores.
