The international business media Financial Times has published an interview with Wärtsilä’s CEO Björn Rosengren in a print article and as video on their segment titled “View from the Top”. The focus was on topics such as the impact of global economy on business, power generation needs in emerging markets, and the importance of renewables.

- According to Björn, the global economy which has been “a little bumpy since 2008” will probably remain unchanged in the coming years. This is the ‘new normal’ which most of the industries have adopted to.

- With about 5,000 power plants in 175 countries, Wärtsilä has presence and play a strong role in the GDP development of all these countries. “If you want to have growth, you need to have power,” he said.

- As more companies are becoming sustainable and environmental friendly, it’s helping to drive Wärtsilä’s business in the right direction.
