Wärtsilä Caribbean was created in Puerto Rico in 1996.

History of Wärtsilä Caribbean

1996 Wärtsilä Diesel Caribbean started operations with 25 employees in Guaynabo Puerto Rico under the presidency of Piet Hokkeling.
2000 New Company President becomes Jukka Suvanto, which was at the moment the local Sales Manager.
2001 Offices move to Carolina and opens new Workshop facilities.
2002 New Company President becomes Stefan Nysjö. Stefan was at the moment the Power Plant Sales Development Manager for the Americas from Finland.
2004 Sales Development manager for French products and Caribbean Market, Christophe Fleurence, becomes Company President.
2008 Juha Kuusisto, Regional Sales Support Manager for the Americas from Finland, becomes our Company President.
2010 Marc Tarbox, Sales Manager of Wärtsilä Caribbean, becomes our General Manager.
2014 Wärtsilä offices from Caribbean (Puerto Rico), Dominicana, Panama and Mexico join forces as Services Unit Caribbean & Central America (SUCCA). Mr. Andre Bosman directs SUCCA from Dominican Republic office.
