Personnel negotiations at Wärtsilä's Runsor site, in Vaasa completed

Personnel negotiations at Wärtsilä Finland Oy’s Runsor site in Vaasa were started on 2 December 2002 with the objective of achieving permanent cost savings. The negotiations covered Wärtsilä Finland Oy’s entire Power Plant business as well as the company’s service and staff functions.

As a result of these negotiations the number of employees in Wärtsilä Finland Oy’s Power Plants unit will be reduced from 384 to 299 by August 2003. Most of this reduction will take place through internal transfers and the termination of 59 fixed-term contracts. In addition 5 employees will take retirement and 10 employees may be made redundant. It has also been possible to reduce outsourced services equivalent to 15 employees.
